About the Lecturer
Dr. Gerald H. Smith is regarded as an international expert in the field of cranial manipulation; he has been in clinical practice for over 56 years. He is the first researcher in the world to document radiographically cranial bone mobility. “Radiographic Evidence of Cranial Bone Mobility,” Cranio: The Journal of Craniomandibular Practice in January 2002. Volume: 20, Issue: 1, Pages: 34–38, Co-authors: Sheryl Lynn Oleski and William T. Crow. He was also the first researcher to develop the DORA Radiographic System (Dental Orthogonal Radiographic Analysis). Dr. Smith was also the first researcher to formulate a hands-on five part palpation indicator system to evaluate the cranium 3-dimensionally. Dr. Smith also holds a US Patent (U.S. Patent No. 4,917,608 — “Cranial motion dental attachment” for a cranial motion precision attachment, Issue date: April 17, 1990) to enable motion of the maxilla when fixed dental bridgework crosses the mid-line. He was one of the first pioneers to publish a book, Cranial Dental Sacral Complex, integrating cranial, dental, chiropractic, osteopathic, medical, and physical therapy concepts.
