I traveled to Markham, Ontario (October, 2018) where I attended a Qi Gong Chinese acupuncture course for the elimination of pain. The course was given by Dr. Stanley Ngui, a 23rd generation Chinese Qi Gong Master acupuncturist. Doctor Ngui’s 40 plus years of practicing Qi Gong has enabled him to devise a system, Ngui Matrix, which maps out the skull into various modules that represent specific areas of the body. By stimulating specific acupuncture points that relate to the area of pain, the pain disappears instantaneously. (All this without the use of needles).
During the seminar, Dr. Ngui demonstrated his expertise in eliminating specific pains in those students who volunteered. The results were incredible. I have been practicing for 50 years, so it takes something pretty amazing to get me excited. After witnessing the instant pain relief he achieved, I became a believer. The key to successful relief is locating the exact point. Doctor Ngui has produced an extensive manual, which includes anatomical drawings to assist in the point location. In addition, we learned how to use an electronic acupuncture point locator to accurately locate these points.
As Dr. Ngui explained, Qi Gong acupuncture technique does not rely on the anatomical hard wired nervous system. In Qi Gong acupuncture, the energy flows through the path of least resistance and functions to restore the body back to center (homeostasis or ‘balance’). Interestingly, if any diseased or dead tissue is present, the energy flows around these areas. By eliminating the energy blockages, the body can heal. Because Qi Gong technology is so effective, I am incorporating it in my practice to help patients resolve their pain issues which have not responded to traditional treatment.
